Transferring Ownership of Drive Contents

Transferring Ownership of Drive Contents allows you to transfer one user drive content to another user in your organization. This will make the other user the new owner of all the files in the drive. However, the original owner can still access the files as an editor. The folder structure from the original drive will be maintained after the transfer. Still, it will be nested in a folder automatically created and named after the original owner's email.

You can only transfer a drive to one user at a time. Before you begin a transfer, you are not required to pull all file drives for the whole drive content to transfer. If the transfer is successful, the person who invoked the transfer will receive an email stating that the transfer is complete. If the transfer fails, the transfer will stop, and the person who invoked the transfer will receive an email stating that the transfer has failed. All the remaining files will stay with the original owner.

The transfer speed for a drive will vary depending on the size of the drive. A drive with 2,125 files will take about 10 minutes to fully transfer over, while a drive with 11,000 takes about an hour.
