Before replacing a component, verify:
- Does it affect normal functionality?
- Does it reduce structural integrity?
- Are internal components exposed?
- Does it create a safety hazard?
If the answer to all four questions is No, the condition is generally considered cosmetic and is not covered under warranty.
Sharp Plastic Disclaimer
(ADP only claim or submission; not covered under intentional or misuse; see below)
Broken or damaged plastic that creates a sharp edge may be covered under warranty when it presents a legitimate safety concern. As a general guideline, if the edge is sharp enough to cut or lacerate a person during normal handling without requiring excessive force, it should be considered a safety hazard rather than cosmetic damage. Minor roughness or chips that are not reasonably capable of causing injury are considered cosmetic and are not covered under this policy.
Intentional Damage, Misuse, and Unreasonable Risk
Damage resulting from intentional acts, misuse, or placing a device in a situation where damage is reasonably foreseeable is not covered under warranty. Devices are expected to be handled, stored, and transported in a manner consistent with their intended use.
Warranty coverage also does not apply to damage resulting from external events that would typically fall under property, homeowners, renters, or other insurance coverage. Examples include fires, flooding, severe weather, building damage, car accidents, or similar environmental or catastrophic events.
