Creating extra-wide Flipchart pages on Promethean ActivPanel displays
In our travels, we’ve had the privilege to work with some amazing people. We recently replaced some older 300Pro Promethean Boards at St. Charles Borromeo School in Destrehan, LA with new 70″ Promethean ActivPanels. While the students and teachers LOVED the large screen and bright surface, two of their wonderful young 3rd grade teachers asked, “Do the Flipchart pages get wider now that the screen is wider?”
Sadly, the answer is “no.” BUT, that inspired us to explore ways to modify the ActivInspire Flipchart settings to make the best use of the wide screen of the ActivPanel.
Here’s how you can create extra-side Flipchart pages on Promethean ActivPanel displays
Step 1
Be sure ActiveInspire is open
- on PC: Click File > Settings
- on Mac: Click ActivInspire > Preferences
Step 2
Click “Flipchart” to get to the Flipchart page settings
Step 3
Change your “World color” to white and “Default page size” to “Screen Size”
Step 4
Click “Done” and then open a new Flipchart by clicking File > New Flipchart
Now you can use widescreen images on wide format surfaces like ActivPanel
